They came, they saw, they wrote some code...

So, the inaugural "Nerd Training Day" at neveratoss Towers went very well, mainly due to the efforts of one Simon Brunning who took a day off work to train two of his mates in the more subtle aspects of the dark art of building Java based web applications. In spite of his claims of being a "crap trainer", Simon did exceptionally well to get Mark and myself to the point where we used: Ant, Eclipse, Tomcat, Postgre SQL, Java servlets and JSPs to create a crude but working web application. Some of the more subtle details (particlarly the Ant build.xml file and the many and various, amazingly powerful and useful, keyboard shortcuts in Eclipse) have escaped my collander like wossname but the general principle seems to have stuck.

Now I simply need to consolidate this new knowledge and it's bye-bye to the world of green screens and narrow minds...
