Right…

I'm off to the pub to meet an ex-2E developer and anyone else who cares to join us.

Wiki/2E – Get it whilst it's hot

So, all you (Synon:2E/Cool:2E/Advantage:2E) AllFusion:2E developers out there – you know who you are, stop trying to look busy. Have you ever though that a searchable, editable, online repository of all the world's 2E knowledge might be handy (and probably quite small)? A place to go to find the answer to all those difficult programming problems like "Why doesn't it work?" Well, here's a radical new concept from one of those young people - you know the ones, a bit like we were when we used to use coding sheets and punch cards: loud music, baggy trousers and too much hair. My colleague, Jeremy, has come up with the answer to your prayers in the shape of the Wiki for AllFusion 2E which dedicated to all things 2E - go have a look.

"It's rubbish", I hear you say, "there's nothing in it!" Well, it is new and here's where you lot come in - go and sign up, put something in it. People read your entries, people expand or edit your entries, you edit or expand theirs, it grows, it's self editing and self organising. Before we know it there will be a useful resource out there on t'intewebnet that we've all contributed to – that'll learn us!

I'll be contributing just as soon as I find something that I can bluff about.

Get typing boys and girls, download all that accumulated knowledge, you're not as young as you were and your memory is getting worse every wossname.

And for you non 2E people out there, I know that Java is better and that Python is better and that the future is not green screen and that Oracle is a better database and that the User Interface is crap blah blah blah. A lot of places are still using 2E and a lot of people have to write and maintain 2E code so a resource like this might be rather handy.

BTW, It's probably not the best forum for Knobby Lunn (fine 2E programmer that he is) to demonstrate his sense of humour. Nor is it a good forum to say that Mark Woodgate smells of elderberries – even if he does.

CSS/HTML Help

Would one of you CSS/HTML experts be kind enough to tell me how I can get the main column and the right hand column to start on the same line when using IE. It looks fine in Firefox but I don't want my IE using visitors (get Firefox guys) to have a less than perfect neveratossBlog viewing experience.

BTW, thanks to Andy for the W3SC vaildator link. As we say in the IT industry, "It's on my to do list."

Clicky for CSS.
